Details MANAGING VIRTUALLY Steelcase Inc. was launching a division in New York City and needed an agency that could serve as its marketing partner. RM+D won the account with its dedication: A five-person team was assigned to handle very detail for Details including strategic planning, national advertising campaigns, product launches (including product naming, packaging, publicity and sales support materials), promotional campaigns, graphic standards, and dealer programs and training. We anticipated issues and handled inquiries. We knew our client and products so well that we answered all calls to Details’ toll-free number (a separate line was installed in our office).
PARTNERING FOR A DECADE RM+D served as Details virtual marketing department for more than 10 years before the function was absorbed internally due to an industry-wide downturn. Our proactive approach to creating an “edgy” brand for the style-savvy audience clearly differentiated it in the marketplace and drove sales to $65 MM by the end of that decade. Our thorough understanding of product, price, place and promotion proved invaluable—RM+D was not merely an outside consultant, but a partner and member of the Details team.
